Our cultural values
When we founded Hubs our Culture was there from day 1. Over the years it has grown with us. Culture is a living thing which is always evolving, we’ve done our best to capture it here:
1
We are all pragmatic makers
We’re on a mission to change how we make things, in order to understand our customers we have to be our customer. This means we value people who make, hack, create, write and invent new things. We couple that maker spirit with a healthy dose of pragmatism, that means we prefer to move quickly than to debate for hours.
4
Our processes allow us to move faster
We value results over process any day of the week, but that doesn’t mean Hubs is some Silicon Valley Start-up Anarchy. We have incorporated processes and traditions that have proven to be effective in the past. For every process we’ll ask ourselves, does this allow us to be smarter or move faster? If it doesn’t we’ll get rid of it.
2
We own our projects till they’re done
We’re not crazy about corporate politics and hierarchy at Hubs, we like to keep things simple and flat. In practice that means everyone who works at Hubs gets ownership of one or more projects or domains. That means you’ll have both freedom within and accountability for your project, and no one but you is responsible for getting the project to the finish line.
5
We create the winning user experience
Our founders both had a product design background. From day 1 we have differentiated ourselves through design and user experience. Why? Because we believe the best user experience eventually wins the industry. In practice this means we work with multidisciplinary teams to address the customers needs, while taking into account all aspects of the product.
3
We’re all students and teachers
Our industry is one of rapid change and cutting edge innovation, every week the playing field changes. We keep each other up to date with developments by teaching and sharing knowledge. Don’t be surprised to see an intern teaching our founders how to use the latest 3D Modeling software. If you join Hubs we’ll expect the same from you, share your knowledge and absorb everyone else’s.
6
Be honest. Be humble
Above all else we care deeply about honesty, we move too quick to have time for office politics or hiding behind excuses. Failures are just stepping stones to success, so we embrace them and talk openly about them. Hubs is a competitive company in a competitive industry, this results in a pressure to perform. We embrace this and support each other to do our best work possible by being our most humble selves.
