What’s the file you’re trying to make into an stl?

I can print it depending on the dimentions. What did you have in mind?

Please drop me an email and I will call you in the morning.

Can you elaborate? I do mechanical engineering and design using Solidworks for a living and I’ve created many STL files to print parts for myself and to share with others. It sounds like what you have is a contract design gig. What is the scope of the project? Is this a replacement part? Is it a whole design project? Here is my email if you want to discuss further in private forum: peternator *AT* gmail -DOT- com

I do provide that service. Please let me know how I can help

I can generate stl file from most cad packages. Are you trying to convert a file or draw from mechanical drawings, etc? feel free to contact me at todd.daniell at laserworksstudios.com

Thanks,

Todd Daniell

I have a two-dimensional object that I need made into an .stl file so I can print a sheet of them that snap off that are about a quarter of inch in diameter each. I have attached the image. How long would it take for you to do this and what would it cost me to do it. If they fit into what we are trying to do, this could turn into a much larger order. Probably 1000 sheets.

Do you have a file you need converted? drawings? specs? What level of help would you like?

ok this is a bit off topic, but what type of stuff do you do a mech engineer, im going to be doing that in college and i was curious what you think of it and all.

I absolutely love it. I love creating things, solving problems, and seeing the things I designed come to life. If you want not to be “lost” when you graduate, get a job as a mechanic, or machinist, or something of the like while you’re in school… if you don’t get some solid hands-on experience, the people who hire you might be very disappointed. This is from what I’ve seen, I worked as a mechanic for 5 years prior. Sorry if sounding negative, but it’s a good lesson to pass on.

The purple thing? It looks 3D. So you are needing a 2D representation of this thing? If that’s correct and the O’all diameter is the size of a quarter, the hairlike features around the perimeter will be way too fine for 3D printing. Can you help explain this purple ball thing?

Also just FYI the reason people are leaving their emails is because it’s just much easier to communicate. I did not know you posted this reply 3 days ago.
