What’s going on. My orders have totally stopped.
Anyone else see this? Tried to talk with support but they weren’t helpful. Are there better alternatives out there?

I agree. I was starting to see some orders then it all stopped and nothing, not even an inquiry lately.

Hi,
Have you looked at where your Hub is listed on 3D Hubs nowadays?
It seems that 3D Hubs has changed the way your Hub is listed on 3D Hubs when customers are looking for a Hub to print something.
I would suggest you do the following:
Go to 3D Hubs and pretend that you are a customer. DO NOT LOG IN under your 3D Hubs account, just browse to the 3D Hubs website.
Upload a STL-file you would be able to prion on your own Hub. Now, select your material and area, and then look where your Hub is listed.
In the past, around my home town, my Hub would be listed on the first page. Nowadays, my Hubs is listed on page three of even further. And Hubs which are 50-100 km (miles) away are listed BEFORE my own, even though my Hub would be something like 1-2 km away.
According to 3D Hubs, distance to the Hub is not as important anymore as ‘ranking’.

I think it’s been three months, maybe more since I had an order.
Yeah-- I don’t get it. I’ve had almost perfect reviews, fast response time, I’m local. My prices are even lower.
They need to be more fair about the rankings… rotate who’s at the top maybe?
I had a similar issue for the last 2 months. I randomly started getting orders again this week (I haven’t changed anything)

Actually, at the moment, I am not surprised:
Please read my comments in the following thread, especially those I just posted today:
It seems that your ranking on 3D Hubs changes at any moment and not at all for the better.
It seems that if you place an order by uploading a file and selecting your area, the list of recommended Hubs does no longer reflect your efforts in making your customer happy.
I have seen Hubs that have had their last review over 5-6 months ago being place on the first page of recommended Hubs, whereas my own Hub is downgraded to page three. And I am talking about Hubs that sometimes only have less than 10 reviews in total.
I’ve got a total of about 50 orders from 3D Hubs since I’ve signed up but really nothing the past 2 months even though I’ve got a perfect 5 out of 5 rating and repeat customers.
I think 3d printing has died.

I’ve had a total of 85 orders from 3D Hubs since I’ve signed up but nothing in the past 6 months
I have had nothing lately either. I have however had people contact me who will no longer use 3dhubs to order because they feel the process has become to cumbersome. They tell me they feel like they are being directed/pushed toward certain services rather than being able to pick and choose.

i think there going to shut the worst 5% as they say the admin said as much.
A tip from me to get your statistics to look better is to source some local orders yourself, and run them through 3D Hubs. This would help you rank higher and catch more attention of customers that we acquired. With every step up, it should become easier to maintain a good client base.
our calculations you’re not performing well enough. These calculations are by all means fair we think, since 95% of all the Hubs manage to perform within their set parameters. You’re unfortunately in the worst 5 percent, so we wanted to give you a notice that something has to improve if you want to keep running your Hub.

Who told you 3D Hubs were going to shut down the “5% worst performing Hubs” ??
I actually received an email about a month ago which basically said I needed to up my ‘Retention Rate’.
Retention rate is the rate of your customer coming back to you for another print. Which is about the ONLY thing I CANNOT do anything about. Or should I force people to have more ‘thingies’ printed than they really need to?
Totally ludicrous idea…
Signing up to 3D Hubs was always free of charge.
As far as I know, there never was anything like a paper you needed to sign. Nor any paper in which rules were laid down as to what your Hub’s performance should be like.
So, eliminating the worst Hubs WITHOUT saying upfront what your performance measurements are is simply a dishonest way of doing business.
I have seen a sharp decline as well, and I am the 6th result for my area.

Hi John,
Thanks for your reply. We just wanted to give you a heads-up that by our calculations you’re not performing well enough. These calculations are by all means fair we think since 95% of all the Hubs manage to perform within their set parameters. You’re unfortunately in the worst 5 percent, so we wanted to give you a notice that something has to improve if you want to keep running your Hub.
when he says to keep running your hub (in other words we shut your hub down
A tip from me to get your statistics to look better is to source some local orders yourself and run them through 3D Hubs.
its better to do your own source as its cheaper than going through the hub as you save 12.5% for a start
Interesting… I started this thread but my comment is in the middle of the thread. Anyways, I just wanted to update my post that I just got an order yesterday (July 20, 2017) and shipped it today (July 21, 2017). Now I just have to wait and see how much time transpires until the next order comes in.

people are on hoilday and students are away take that in to acount
That’s an interesting take on it that I hadn’t thought of, but, you haven’t had any in 6 months. Doesn’t sound like that’s the reason for you, perhaps for me though.
I also instruct concealed carry class in Illinois and that does slow down during the summer every year and picks up again in the fall so maybe there is something to that theory in 3d printing as well.
Thanks for the input.
