I am seeing a lot of shims for the z axis if you install a glass bed plate. My question is, are they necessary or can you adjust your bed plate without a shim?
Pretty much needed to compensate for the thickness of the glass. You don’t want to tighten the bed down onto the springs so much it can’t go down easily if the nozzle were to hit it.
Some have made new Z end stop mounts instead.
