I recently bought a prusa i3 by Hictop and I’m having a problem where each z-axis motor works but not together. I plug one in at a time to make sure it works but then when I hook them both up they move about .4mm and then they stop. You can hear them moving for a split second then they stop and the only way I can get them to turn back on is by turning my printer off then on.

Update: I removed the spindles and moved the z-axis and it doesn’t do full spins it jitters and spins one direction then goes in the other like it has no idea what it’s doing.

I am unfamiliar with the prusa i3 design but it sounds like you dont have enough current to drive all the motors at once. If you can get them to run individually through their full range of travel but not all together its either electrical ( you dont have the available power to do what you want) or mechanical, your system is over constrained somewhere and is binding because of it
