I have a mp200. Monoprice select mini. Been running fine, minus some clogging. Today I did a hotend swap for zero offset e3d. Did z axis base stabilizer while i was inside. Now my Z axis isn’t working. I hear the motor, but it’s not moving. I took front cover off and can manually twist the thread and it’s moves. Checked wire and connectors best I can, swapped for x axis etc… still same Ideas?

@Liqwde you said you swapper the wire and connectors.

Three scenarios: something is not working it could be the wires, the stepper motor, or the stepper driver.

Troubleshooting:

1. Switch out the stepper drivers for the z axis from one that you know is working. If this works, just replace the broken stepper driver.

2. Disconnect the wires/connector from the z axis and take the wires from the another motor (x,y) that you know is working. Connect the wires and then tell the printer to move the axis from which you took the wires. If this works it means there is something wrong with the wiring. So replace the z axis wiring.

3. Finally, take the wiring from the z axis and connect to the x or y axis motor and then tell the printer to move the z axis motor.

If the motor you connected it to moves it means it’s the z axis motor that is the problem.

Let me know if any of that helps.

Ok, removed the z axis connector from the board and mixed to x axis. X axis motor won’t move. Put all wires back. Z motor works, but only 1 direction. What is the driver? Vs the motor

Did the Z-axis motor move at all before you did this? You mentioned that the Z axis motor was not working.

If it moves now, try homing and then moving the motors via software/control.

Yeah, everything worked great before. The motor is working now, but only 1 direction.

Is this even after you home all the axis?

When I home it’s goes to home, but it’s doesn’t go down

Maybe switch out the motor and see if you have the same issue.

I mean that’s very strange. If it only moves in one direction, it means the motor works (in terms of motion), I am inclined to say that there something wrong with the wiring.

Yeah, guess the easy solution. If motor is fine I have a spare lol. Ok, ordering motor. I’ll feel you in a couple days
