Hello,
My motor which makes the movements for Y Axis broke down, and we already trew it away.
The original motor costs almost 60 euros, i was wondering if there was one, a replica motor which sells for les?

Do you know what type of stepper motor it was? Usually you can it for pretty cheap (30 USD for 4-5 motors) on eBay.
You can also check out this supplier: 3dbranches.com (they are Canadian) but they have good quality parts.
At the moment i am unable to tell which type/model of stepper motor moment it was. I will be on work at wednesday… I will write the copy of the model then from another printer which is exactly the same model.

no worries, you can also contact your supplier and ask them directly what the specifications are of the stepper motor.
Sorry for the delay, Ultimaker did not react to my request for the specifications of the Y Axis motor.
So i had to wait a bit longer, but at the end i was able to write down the Serial number of our previous Y Axis motor.
Serial number: SY42STH38-1684A
I have already done some searching of my own but without any luck.
I have come across several Nema 17 Stepper motors, but since there are so many of them.
I wasn’t able to tell which i need. So could u please help me with that?

I think this is your stepper motor:

Well, any stepper motor with the following specs should work:
42×38mm, 2.8V, 1.7 A (1.8degrees step angle).
You may want to check what type of connector is required to connect to your printer.
If it comes with just the wires, you may need to manually crimp the wires and assemble the connector.
Is there anyway to confirm that it will work?
Edit:
Also the shaft type is D and not Round like the original one.
But i guess it will still work right? The shape isn’t a major difference?

Also you can try this website: https://ultimaker.com/en/products/spare-parts
And then find a local reseller near your location.
For example, it directed me to this page: X,Y Stepper Motor - Shop3D.ca
This way, you can be 100% sure you are getting the part you need for the Ultimaker 2.
After some searching on Aliexpress, i have come across this stepper motor.
It’s a lot cheaper then the other ones.

Everything about it seems ok to me, except for the dimensions.
It is 42x40mm… But that shouldn’t be a big deal i guess.
Whether it will work, I do not know yet. But I’ll keep you informed.
