I was tempted to order this huge volume printer (400x400x450). 3dpintersonline has it for $1500 including shipping. However I can’t find any info on the company or printer on the web aside from marketing materials and a youtube review from Tom Hansen which seem to start his channel a couple of weeks ago with a review of the printer. Case of buyer beware?

I’ve had this printer for a week now, very well built. The only thing I don’t like is the magnetic connections for the extruders, but they have worked fine so far.

The printer is new so there’s not much info or reviews out there. My take is that it’s a great printer for the price.

FormBot and gMax 3d printers,

Please know the FormBot is a clone of the gMax 3d printer built with cheaper parts. They have literally taken the free 3d files from gCreate, provided to the community, and used them in their printer without attribution. It’s not just a coincidence why the parts look so similar. These files were provided to the 3d printing community as a thank you but not everyone respects the attribution requirement. This also applies to models modified from our original design. They also do not have a website, forum or any other resources with which to give back to the community. It appears they have also copied several other components of the gMax printer without any concern for the original designer. This includes the many of the metal parts. I know this because I have spent many days, nights and weekends designing the gMax printer and my partner, Anna Lee, and I have worked hard to build our company. We understand the allure of the price but just wanted to make sure people know who they are buying from. We really appreciate your reply. More than you possibly know. We aren’t trying to create a bad environment for anyone but feel it’s pretty bad what these companies will do. Just commented below. Thank you for your reply. Please check out our website for new info and our forum for parts. We are trying to add new accessories, as much as time permits, and we just put up some new youtube tutorial videos on designing the gcreate rocket and our Simplify3D settings.
