I am looking for the option to buy a Cube 3d 3rd gen. But this is discontinued. I can buy these for around $250,00. Is it worth it. I mean i wil make a lot of smaller prints with it, i now also work with a robo3d 1 gen. This one is a pain in the ass…So i wan to make nice prints. I cannot find a specs sheet where i can find if the 3rd gen has a heat bed…as it can print ABS and PLA.

So overall, who has this printer and can answer some of my questions.

Does it have heated bed.

Is it worth it to buy the printer for this amount of money.

hope to hear it soon.

I would not spend my money on the Cube 3. I personally have a Monoprice Select Mini and I love it. The Select Mini has a heated bed, and can print most 1.75mm filaments. The Cube 3 uses proprietary filament cartridges that are expensive, although it does have a bigger build volume at 6" x 6" x 6" as opposed to the MP Select Mini at 4" x 4" x 4". I have had a few issues with my printer so it probably isn’t as easy to use as the cube, but in my opinion it is far better in the long run.

Iwan, dont know if you made a decision yet on the cube 3. I have two of them and think for the price (less than $200 shipped) they are great. I get very nice PLA parts from them and depending on the part also nice ABS parts. It does not have a heated bed but the print quality of the parts is so far nicer than my Maker Select produces when it comes to ABS. It does have warping issues when the part are too long and x & y direction, but I have not seen any issues in the z (no warping and no delaminatiion). Dont know if it has to do with filament but maaybe. I also recently did a hack that has been shown on Youtube so you can use standard filament instead of expesive cartridges. This hack does require an empty cartridge for modification and a cartridge that is 1-3% full. If you dont want to mess with this I would not recommend buying the cube, but if you dont mind you can get a nice quality printer for a great price. Just understand you will have to rely on the Cube community to solve problems if they arise. 3D systems no longer supports this printer which is why it is selling for >$200 and not $1000.
