We had a wonderful meetup in Singapore yesterday. The discussions were intense and we had some of the best 3D Printing enthusiasts and experts coming together!
People like Victor Lee of 3Dlantis, Nelson Woon of Makeronee and Roomism (Print service provider), Lawrence a made it special with their own thoughts shared with the community.
We also had guests from India like Harsh Sangvi of Shapeways and Hari Bharadwaj 3D joining in to make the occasion international!
The special and surprise appearance of William Hooi of One Maker Group also added some aura to the occassion
The community discussed various issues facing the industry and resolved to strengthen the collaborative efforts to grow 3D Printing further in the region.
Hope to see more participation and continued support in future too!
Thanks to all those who made it to the meetup and pl feel free to share your own experience at the meetup

Thanks for sharing these great photos from the first Singapore meetup Rajesh. What was the highlight of your I3DP Singapore week?

The highlight for I3DP Singapore was the capabilities of home grown 3d printer manufacturers such as Volunex, Quickfab, RDP Labs and others. The community is trying to address local problems to be solved with this emerging technologies.
A tough question to answer
The general perception was to have more frequent gatherings like this meetup and closer interaction to address common issues facing the community. I specifically highlighted on the need to cooperate at business level and compete at innovation level at such a nascent stage of the evolution of a new industry

Very good points, indeed. Thanks for getting back to me, Raj, and good luck with this! Cheers
Thx for having us at the meetup @rajbatam! It was great meeting fellow makers and enthusiasts!
Awesome point about collaboration! One of the things we do at 3Dlantis is to work with companies to realize benefits of 3D printing not just in terms of quicker and more cost-efficient manufacturing but also in terms of idea-sourcing and marketing. More can certainly be done to educate businesses and the closer we collaborate as makers the more we can grow the market.
Just to highlight a current collaboration with Mēkā in conjunction with BuiltinSG’s SG50 campaign to launch a 3D printing design contest. The contest seeks out ideas which fuse heritage into beautiful and/or useful products such as a merlion pen, or a vase in the shape of Sir Stamford Raffles, a Padang-facade Raspberry Pi case or even a piece of furniture fashioned around a 60s Formula one racecar. You don’t need to be a pro designer so you can even enter your sketch in the contest. Do check out the contest here and bring your heritage ideas to life with 3D printing. Cheers!

I missed to respond @3Dlantis ! I am sure the contest in collaboration with Mēkā is really doing well! We can look at having our next meetup themed around collaborative 3d printing!
Suggestions, venue, topics and speakers please come forward
@Rajbatam Thanks, that’s a great idea. Looking forward to organising it with the community. Let me take the opportunity to wish all our Chinese 3DHUBS printers a very Happy and Prosperous New Year of the Goat!
