Hi

Hi, I have a model consisting of a simple origami like module.

The whole thing is about 20 by 4 by 4 cm. All the angles are about 45 degrees. Checked in meshmixer with no errors.

However when printed, the module falls apart and comes out broken (pic in gallery above.)

Why and how would I rectify this?

Hello!

When printing overhangs like in your model the printer will be depositing material in thin air. If the plastic doesn’t solidify fast enough the overhangs will collapse. To sole the problem, make sure that your part cooling fan is running at full speed. If the printer doesn’t have one, try pointing a normal fan on it. To make sure that the printer doesn’t print in the air, try turning on supports in your slicer.
