Hello,

I’ve been interested in 3D printing for quite a while, and have a little experience with CAD from past small projects. I’d done a few designs in CAD for small scale models, had them sent off to be machined as a master, and then cast. 3D printing would allow me to skip a few steps and cheaply form mock ups.

I’d like to start out looking at having a a few small projects done, and then working up to doing my own CAD work, and being able to send it out to hubs for printing. What’s the best way to go about meeting with printers about projects and developing some working relationships? Thanks in advance.

I think you should look at the hubs in your area, read their descriptions and see if they fit your needs. Then send one or more of them a message.
I have developed a few relationships because clients just sent me their stls, which I printed and we talked about when they came to pick them up. Many of us are able to help with the models if needed, but I believe you can handle yourself.

You can always just start with a print you need done. Find a hub and start an order
