Hey guys,

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from you! First of all do you have any feedback on 3D Hubs that you want to share? We’re deploying new stuff and we need your brilliant feedback on this!

Then, we haven’t been in Copenhagen for a while and now, of course, we miss you. Is there any fair/event that we can attend soon?

Thanks guys!

I don’t have much to say besides the fact that your system for charging is obsolete. Volume is for sure not the best way to charge for prints, the best way to charge for prints is by machine hour. I think that somehow your system needs to account for this flexibility of invoicing. We need the ability to charge however we’d like, meanwhile of course keeping the customer confident in the system and the hubs.

Another thing is that I think the public needs more awareness of 3D printing and the capabilities/limitations. I don’t think that we’ve seen the demand from the public or even the business community that 3D printing warrants. I would say you now have a lot of hubs but you need to attract customers. There isn’t enough throughput as of right now.

If you’re looking for an event to go to then I suggest Makers’ day at Copenhagen Main Library on March 20th. Makers' Day 2015

In general, I love the service and you have connected me with a lot of great customers. I thank you for that.

Dane

Hey Dane,

I see your point. I’ve to admit that volume sometimes is not the easiest way for calculating the price, but at the moment in which the platform was built was definitely the most effective one. I can explain you briefly why: on one side we have the need of the customer, that has to have instant quotes and see the best Hubs next to him, on the other the need of the Hub to charge for extra modeling, design, etc. For this reason you can charge the customer of extra services as adding material support on the base price. However I like your idea and I really think we can change the price calculation is some way.

Then, for what concerns the demand side, we’re still for sure on early stages. So far we’ve achieved to create the largest network for 3d printers, now we can propose ourself to brands and companies as the mean for having a local tech production. As this happened for Fairphone. I do see an improvement in 3D printing acknowledge by the general audience, but for sure there’s still room for improvements, especially in the educational fields.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion on the event, we’ll try to make our best to be there and to leverage the demand of orders in the Copenaghen area.

Hope to hear/see you soon

Cheers
