Hi, friend.

What do you think is important for a good 3d printer ?

Speed? accuracy ? easy to operation ? multi-function ?

Welcome to comment your idea, thank you !

I think everyone of those is a good measure of how good a 3D printer is.

However, I guess a significant factor is how the prints actually turn out in the end. I think a lot of people will consider a printer “good” if it yields excellent prints. This suggests speed/accuracy are better measures of excellence.

So perhaps it depends how you frame the question. If you say “what is a good starter printer” then ease of use and functionality will be relevant measures but just saying what is a good printer I think people assume we are talking print quality.

I focus on speed first and foremost, reason being that often I’m on an extremely tight schedule and have deadlines for functional prints. Accuracy and versatility come second. Ease of operation is not a concern for me at all given that the problems I encounter don’t actually delay my schedule (e.g. I’m OK with having 6 steps between model and start of printing as long as the print doesn’t fail 3 hours in.)

That’s just me though. I don’t imagine too many others would have the same priorities that I do.
