I’m looking to print calibrated dice. I have already in hand multiple models perfectly made with no error. My question is quite simple, but I couldn’t find any answer on the web at this moment : what material is best to produce well calibrated dices, like the ones in casinos?

Hi @Gabriel_107 are you printing these yourself or having them printed by a 3rd party? If printing yourself, what machine (technology) are you using?

Hi @cobnut, thanks for your reply. I don’t print myself, so this is why I would like to know which is the best technology to use for this kind of object, and then I will find a hub somewhere that can do it.

Hi @Gabriel_107 you could print the dice using FDM, a good well-configured machine could probably produce decent enough results. However, you’ll get much better look and feel from SLA printing. Not only will you get a much smoother surface, you’ll almost certainly get heavier dice and the weight would be evenly distributed (the nature of FDM printing could make it difficult to get balanced dice, unless printed solid).

Standard SLA materials are probably fine for occasional usage, as long as they’re properly cured, though if you need something harder you could look at the Dental materials from FormLabs:
