Info:

Using 3D’s Max to model my object. Exporting in STL file.

I started using simplify 3D for a while and for the most part it’s an awesome slicer.

However, today I’ve been noticing that a few times it’ll miss major parts.

I provided the results for 2 other slicers who aren’t having this issue.

My printer is a maker select v2

Issue: Simplify3D is missing the joints of objects which have no vertices issue ( at least that i know of)

any idea what’s going?

Hi @Fabio_Alfaro have you run the model through Netfabb to check it? I’m wondering if there are odd normals that some slicers can cope with that Simplify can’t…

Also try running the repair in S3D and see how it goes.

Did you check your model to make sure it does not have errors in it by running it through a model check like MakePrintable or Meshmixer?

Yes, this is definitely an inverted normals issue, a result of running two “square objects” inside of each other in 3ds max.

If you have booleaned the object, unboolean it. If you did not boolean it, boolean it. This might fix it.

Easier solution: Run it through makeprintable.com.
