Hi Pegasusers,

I’ve recently ran into a few people over the last few weeks who purchased the Super Vat from FSL3D. I’ve learned that from all of these users, all of their machines are not functioning. We’ve crowdsourced that the culprit is currently the Super Vats offered by FSL3D. I urge anyone who is currently using one of their machines to continue using the PDMS acrylic Vat until they can get this issue resolved. When it has been fully addressed, I’ll update this thread.

It’s really awesome of you mate to give the community this heads-up, good onya!

What exactly is happening?

The Z axis motor will malfunction and eventually die.

3 months on from your post. I’ve always used the acrylic vat and even came up with some cool things to make them last longer, but I’m down to my last one. Any update on SuperVat issues you reported?

I got a supervat last month. After this post. It has worked flawlessly so far. I recommend it as an upgrade. What did you do to make the acrylic vat last longer?

I have a thread on the FSL3D forums about restoring the acrylic after an unfortunate accident that turned it white. I also came up with a vacuum degassing system for the vats that can be used while the vat is installed in the printer (so the PDMS can be level with the hardware). Redirecting to Google Groups

So far the SuperVat has been largely a failure on my machine. Two of my vat liners failed within hours and dumped resin all over my lower vat window.

I would just use Slygard to recoat Acrylic vats instead of using SuperVats. Not worth the risk.

omg! :frowning:
