So I have a custom 3D printer almost up and running (was once a TwoUp) and I’m thinking of becoming a printer for my local hub (which is a whole city away) when I get it running reliably and wanted to get some advice on what it takes for US printers to get started.
My main questions are:
1.) Do I need to do any business stuff such as tax ID or is the income normally not near the threshold
2.) Does anyone claim this as income on taxes? The US government has quite a few rules that get jumbled and confusing so I figured I’d ask this to people who have been doing this for a little bit.
3.) Is there a rough average for what most people pull in? (I know this one probably won’t get any responses since money is normally confidential but I’m more looking for a ball park just to estimate with).
4.) is advertising my hub a good idea?
5.) and general advice on getting up and running properly?
Again I’ve printed or a little bit on my own but since I’ve done this major over hall and with a child on the way, having kind of a small extra income for little things is all I’m aiming for. This won’t be primary income.
Thanks for any help/advice on this

Hi @Jeepguy42, I suggest you start you research by browsing through the How to Hub section of Talk and the FAQ. If there’s anything you don’t find in there, let me know and I’ll be more than happy to help. Cheers!
