Hi everyone, First time post here. I am considering a purchase of the new Mcor Arke paper based HD color 3d printer. In order to show people the types of models suited to this machine, and to secure financial backing from my company to pursue this, I am looking for someone who owns an Mcor Iris to supply some sample parts for me. I will supply a few 3d models, and of course will pay market rates for the parts. Please respond if you can provide such a service. Thanks Adrian

If you are interested I will be selling my MCor Iris. It is two years old and has been used lightly. I own a makerspace and have found that there are not enough people in my area who are interested in learning to use this machine themselves. Our makerspace is not staffed to do production work so the amazing machine has been used only to make models for demonstration purposes. It is an awesome technology and has great potential. It is just not being used enough in a community makerspace. I would be happy to send you models that have been made on the machine. They are impressive.

Hi Adrian,

Where are you located? What are you looking to accomplish with the Mcor ARKe?

We own an Iris and can possibly help you out. Check out Beckatt’s Hub here on 3D Hubs.

Regards,

Michael

Hi,

First, I would like to ask you about the MCor results,

I have seen in movies and pictures that there are vertical and horizontal lines on the printed models, what are these lines and can they be removed? also, is the final result can be polished to a shiny appearance somehow / can it get any work done on it after printed?

I do not really know this printer (or any other) and looking to purchase not a one or two colours machine but a finer one for better jobs.

Also wonder what you are asking for it and where is it located.

The models do have some visible lines on them when they are removed from the build stack. Please understand as these have been made out of sheets of paper, your model is essentially wood again. It is not fragile like many of the other full color printer methods. It can be sanded and sealed just like any other piece of wood (matte, semi gloss, or glossy). This will also allow it to be wiped down and cleaned (models can get dirty if many people handle them). The detail achievable is quite high literally paper thin. I will post some photos when I get in to work today. Our machine is in Washington state in the US. The machine is large and will need to be shipped on a palette. I set the price for 20k trying to take the shipping costs into account. Where is it you are located?

Hi,

Thanks for the info.

I am located in Israel and frankly it is a little over my budget.

I wonder who are your customers and with such cost (which you probably paid much more), how much do you sell your goods for.

I’d be glad if you could share some info, maybe a sample of a product made and price sold to get the idea as I am new to this business and still trying to figure out if it worthwhile or not.

My email is modan.projects@gmail.com if you feel like sending some info over there.
