Hi all!
I haven’t seen any announcements for this so I’m taking the lead. The Wanhao i3 plus is now available for preorder.
The official release date is the 1st of July however there may be a few early release models for those who get in quick. (no guarantees on this)
It seems the main changes are obviously the new touch screen, larger SD reader, larger build volume - 200x200x200 and a new filament holder which sits off the top of the frame.
I know there have been some improvements which aren’t immediately visible, upgrades to the components and hardware based on feedback from the original i3 and the version 2.1.

Looks good although not enough changes to warrant the purchase. It’s a standard i3 with embedded screen and psu. Woohoo
shane they didn’t get the auto bed level in as found on the latest prusa.
Wow, it’s taken a long while for me to see this comment!
We don’t recommend a current i3 owner going out and purchasing a PLUS as an upgrade, the differences don’t warrant a NEW purchase… However… For those purchasing a new i3 printer as an entry point it’s a much better choice… The embedded touch screen and PSU relocation is mostly cosmetic but there have been changes to the drag-chain and electronics which solves a few known problems with device longevity.
If you had a PLUS and a v2.1 side-by-side and had to make the choice as a new purchaser, the PLUS wins hands down. (In my humble opinion)
Hopefully they have fixed more of the issues they introduced with the I3 Plus. From what I have heard it had more issues than the v2 and earlier. I can’t say for myself since I haven’t got my hands on one yet. https://www.youtube.com/user/LadyJ634/videos?shelf\_id=0&view=0&sort=dd
