I’m completely new to 3D design/printing and getting my head around it. I purchased a Cocoon Model Maker printer which I’ve found is the same as the Wanhao I3 Mini. The plan is to make what I can in my workshop and have metal CNC parts made for the parts I can’t reproduce.
My first print seemed to be going ok until it dislodged from the bed (lack of experience with the model - not enough contact with the bed)
I modified the model to give more surface area on the bed and tried again.
The printer just went to the first corner and sat about 10mm above the bed pumping out plastic.
The printer seemed to be having issues reading from the SD card. The screen going ‘wonky’
So I tried one of the supplied Gcode files (cable clip) and it worked fine.
Tried a simple test (2 cylinders joined) and once again the printer sat in the corner and sulked.
I’m using FreeCAD to do the modelling and Cura to convert to Gcode.
So If there’s any advice available I would appreciate it
