hi there im also having major issues with my printer.

The main issue is connectivity i.e usb being recognised, the eventual time it did connect was a nightmare the extruder would not reach temperature and the software would just freeze and crash.

Now I cannot get the printer to connect at all just will not recognise it also the board itself the l1 indicator will not flash at all, so im assuming the problem is the main board any ideas.

by the way im a cnc service engineer so 3 axis movements to me is no problem also the electronic side isn’t an issue.

There are lots of problems with USB not being recognised, thats a PC problem I have tried 4 PC’s and two MACS at home on the MAC’s it is very intermittent and I could only get it to work successfully on 2 of the PC’s. The Bed is offset according to the Tech guys there is new firmware on the way to sort that. As for that cooler in issue 91 not only did you have to mess with it to get it to stop fouling the job it stopper the extruder reading temperature so I disconnected it. The only real problem I have had apart from motor driver boards has been adhesion I was using standard masking tape from B&Q but the job would stick sometimes and not others ABS failing nearly every time. I found a recommendation on the internet to use 3M original Blue Painters tape. Wow what a difference I haven’t had a failure since.

When printing ABS I have had it freeze I assume it just gets too hot…

but i can now not get it to connect at all, also the l1 indicator light did flash the once when i did get it to connect,

other issues extruder not getting to temperature im guessing because of this cooling fan.

The z height calibration is a joke the height is roughly around 135 but i find this caused it to go to high.

the z axis twists due to the weight on the on side of the printer i.e left hand side. the right hand side supports cause it to crab over and the first time it went to calibrate twist and nearly totally screw up the coupling.

anyway of getting it to recognise the printer again and i can work though maybe not happy

Hi

Let me see if I can help you with your printer problems. I have my height calibrated at 129.6mm

I have been commissioned by Eaglemoss to help

Chris

Are you still having problems? I will see what I can do

Chris

Hi Chris where do I start.

I managed to get a new board sent out and replaced but the connectivity is still not working fully.

i managed to change to an old laptop that eventually worked, I reset the thing roughly around your mark 129, removed the other fan and got the printer to actual move etc the first time I came to print boom software crash no splicing wouldn’t downloload the program to the printer basically I have a jogging machine woooooh not happy

Hi

What operating system are you using??

Chrisholland1967@gmail.com

One laptop has windows 7 , one has windows Xp.

i have more luck with windows Xp.

what are your thoughts

the printer works fine on all operating systems up to windows 10. so I can see it crashing a windows XP machine this is due to OpenGL.

Install the V3 software on the windows 7 machine, then plug in the printer with the software open can you when you go into calibration connect to the printer. Does it connect?

If not left and close the hood. Does that work?

chrisholland1967@gmail.com

The windows 7 laptop was the one I could not even get the printer to connect,

the error was always USB not recognised errors, u would plug in do a different port same problem.

it was like as if it needed drivers etc but none available.

As I said in an earlier post there are problems with the V3 and certain motherboard’s USB ports, there are no work a-rounds as it is at a very low level in the bios code that the problem is occurring. Of My desktop Systems only one works 99% crashes the print occasionally, one MAC doesn’t work one is 50% successful at connecting and that is it, one laptop is also 95% successful but you have to connect the printer switched on before powering up the laptop and then only if it is running Windows 7.

Hi it may be better and quicker to communicate through e-mail.

you must be on the internet when you install software to get the drivers ther is a driver out there for arno boards g it it’s f2… somthing g it

printing with usb ??? use microsd only thing that works for me usb fail 9 out of 10 install sd card you must be able to re move it us save op save to removable drive where you have your card not printer with new fireware !! manual print conect when it conect type "M23 nameoffile.gco then send then type M24 then it will print M must be upper case must be space after M name
