Anyone interested in designing simple urban hacks?

One of many examples would be this series of projects -HACKTION-

But we could get together and figure some stuff out. I recently graduated from Art Center College of Design and feel comfortable with helping with the sketching + prototyping of ideas.

While at ACCD I ran the DIY club with a friend, let me know if anything comes to mind!

I love this idea! I would like to help design if possible. I’m a mechanical engineer with a SolidWorks license, so if you draw it up, I’ll do my best to crank out a model and prototype on my FDM. I actually have some bright orange ABS too if you want to follow the same model, haha. Some of these load-bearing pieces will probably do better with an SLA though.

Hello,

To those in the LA area, I’m really into getting people to work together on the designs so I am not at all looking to commandeer this.

I think the easiest is to start a meetup and get together. I am a bit busy for the next couple of weeks so I’ll leave this thread around, see if anyone else is interested.

I am also curious to know which part of LA you are in, I’m in Pasadena but can meet almost anywhere

We are actually starting a 3d printing meet up for 3DP people in LA.

It’ll be called “3D Print LA”

I would love to help out, but I think my involvement would have to be remote because I live in Lake Forest and travel most weekends for work. I’m all for designing, printing, and shipping product with my M2 though.

Quick observation, I see a “3D Hubs Los Angeles” meetup group but The “Experiencing new filaments” meetup event isn’t listed under upcoming events. (meetup.com)
