Hi, We are doing a project where we 3d model classical art paintings, 3d print them for the visually impaired and blind people. The files will be free to share and download so art will be truly accessible!
We got this awesome modeller onboard who made this Mona Lisa and now we are in the process to print it out. We are shooting a crowd funding video on saturday 31.10 and we are trying to get the model done before that. It will be in full scale H=77cm W=53cm D=25cm (done in 12 smaller pieces). The first piece is printing now in Aalto university´s FabLab but we are able to make only couple of pieces there out of 12. We are now printing it out with Ultimaker Extended using 2.85 PLA.
Could you guys help us out? We can cover the material costs and it would be awesome if you guys could help us out on our project! The pieces are under 20cm x 20cm but depth varies.
Here is our website: unseenart.org
Attached more info about the project and pictures of the model!
Your help and input would be great as we are quite new to 3D printing, thanks!

Glad you like it! We are super excited about this! Eleven still to print we are hoping to get at least one more to print today so it would be 10
They are not optimized for printing so the face takes about 1 day to print out, which is not optimal…
This is where the beauty of 3D printing comes into place. Congrats for this awesome initiative! Would love to see museums taking this on.
