Hello Everyone,
Looking for a high precision printer. Ideally one that is capable of 20-50 microns. Appears that the Type A Series 1 and the Ultimaker are the best options. Any input on these machines?

Anyone have both of the machines and willing to print a dome on each to show the layering across a curved surface?

Thanks!

Hey there!!

I have the UM2, and I gotta say its pretty fabulous. (https://ultimaker.com/en/products/ultimaker-2)

I have printed at 50 microns several times, but not more than that even though it can. It would take a seriously long time. At 50 microns the detail is not discernible to the naked eye. Since buying, I have installed the olsson block (now its included free) which enables the UM2 to have changeable nozzles. I have printed with the 0.25mm nozzle, which gets impressive amounts of detail.

Depending on your needs, its definitely worth considering!

Cheers

Trevor
