My girls are loving my new printer, but I don’t have access to use Ty Dyed filament to print a few phone cases, can someone recommend a 3d hubber for printing?
Will trade for Form1+ castable resin prints if interested.

Hi there !
Would this suit your needs ? :
I can print nylon and would give dyeing the filament a try.
I can’t accept orders in the next two weeks, because i’m doing my exams then. Feel free to contact me via my Hub for further information.

A white PLA filament marked up with sharpie ink may give you the desired look. I am always anxious about printing phone cases for folks because usually one good drop and it’s done. I wish the bloggers waited for flexible filament to become norm before hailing Phone Cases as the 3D Printing “Killer App”.
Just my opinion.

Sounds interesting, even tough pla might be too brittle for cases one could use the uh s technique for other colored prints, do you have references or pictures that prove that this works? I’m curious, if the whole filament will take the color or if the color is just on the outside. -Marius
The ink spreads with the melting plastic in the hot end. It will be a lighter shade due to the dilution of color. It works though.

So you are just coloring the outside before the filament goes into the extruder, right? Did you test coloring with very clear materials like PET? -Marius

You can always try printing using Taulman Bridge or PCTPE. Both are flexible enough that it would allow you some design room for a snap-on type cover and they are very durable too…so you wouldn’t have to worry much about breaking the case if dropped. Also, both of these materials are clear and can be dyed with Rit dye, which is available in many place. It might be worth considering anyway.
