I have previously had injection moulding tools made in the UK which was costly. I am looking to go to China to have blow moulding and injection moulding tools made .Can anyone recommend a reliable and quality finish tool maker in China ?

The idea of using china is not as lucrative a s it once was. Vars Tax and the fact that molds are not delivered until paid in advance still makes it a risky business . I have a friend over there that recommended I use WenDing, they were on target but I have never placed anything with them because it was still not worth the risk . I had quotes other done and compared them to other is regards to the details and they were legit .
BTW i am in the USA based and have had over 40 years in injection molding experience…design, construction and molding so I know how many hours it takes and how to reduce the hours . You have to give them a mold design that you know will work to go by too…Once you have that the currency conversion of what is expected in each country for a good quote its easy … just look at the currency exchange rate for the hours . Material cost are universal we all have to pay the same for the same materials… which is a strategy many use not only in China …they do not always use the best material in the quote so make sure you spec that out …

Thank you for your reply .I am based in the UK .I had injection mold tools made 5 years ago in the UK which were costly. My experience with the toolmaker that I used based in the UK wasn’t at all good .As soon as samples were run and were fine I paid the tool maker .But when things went pear shaped after a few weeks they didn’t want to know. I go to China 3 times a year to buy other products. So going there isn’t a problem. I am looking to buy blowmolding and injection molding tools from China .I hear that Ningbo and the Shenzhen area specializes in tool making but I’m not sure. If you could point me in the right direction with a good tool maker that would be great .Thanks
I can help you in this area but mist know a little more about your product … in regards to the pear shape that is not a mold makers issue it is a molding issue … sounds like you got into the traditional mold maker vs molder battle … so sorry to hear … if you send me what you are wanting to mold I will do a gratis consulting for you and if you want can recommend some things to keep the surprises from happening… your issues can happen in any country so you may need to get local an experienced molder to look out for you …

If you need caps for your bottles you need to have a standard neck finish otherwise you will have capping issues later … seems like you are going into a steep learning curve here … I can help you more than I think you realize … the idea is to give you good information to make your decisions on so you will be success … if you use a standsard neck finish then the caps can be purchased with out requireing new molds and save you a lot of money … you are right the molding especially of bottles needs to be near the filling source . But you need to know what kind of blow molding machine you are using to design your blow mold
The bottle and the lids are bespoke to this design.So is there anyone you can recommend in China ?
