hey @Juan_Solidoodle @aarong88 @PrintMyDesign1 @Isaac_Jones @Naples any tips for @BonzoShields to improve his SD3 prints?

Anything is appreciated. I’ve leveled the bed. Added a glass bed. Installed a new e3dv6 hot end with cooling fan to the nozzle. Now I think it’s mostly settings they need to be tweaked. I bought a new set of mitutoyo calipers for this but just curious how to get the flow rates and speeds right.

@BonzoShields Hello, saw your post and I also have been trying to increase my prints on my SD3. What have you done so far to your unit? there are a couple of things you can do within the settings that can help produce better quality prior to adding new parts. Maintaining temperature of the environment or building a case around your printer is 1 thing that helps alot. Also it will vary depending on the Plastic you are using. Just let me know where you maybe having issues and i can better point you in the right direction, cheers

I have an SD4. I put a glass bed on it almost immediately. Had problems with adhesion to the bed. I found that keeping the temp constant help my resolution. I also test each new bath of filament I get. They all seem to do better at different temps even a few degrees. You can also slow down your travel speeds.

Try Extruder Calibration Update | Solidoodle Tips It has gotten my completely stock SD2 Pro to the point of printing .1mm. I don’t have a cooling fan or a new extruder yet. The whole blog is full of incredibly useful info.
