Hi everyone

I have the Hephestos 2 (an open printer) where I only use PLA (but hope one day to start using ABS). I have young kids in the house <5 year olds who absolutely love getting creative with designing things and seeing them print however I have been cautious about letting them get close to the printer or be in the room for anything more than a minute because of potential health risks.

I understand that PLA printing doesn’t pose a known risk from a VOC perspective but I do understand that it still does release ultra fine particles which probably isn’t good, particularly for young kids.

This along with the risk that my kids might hurt themselves if they manage to somehow touch the heated bed, extruder or mechanical components has led me to build an enclosure.

I do plan to keep the window in the room open but I also want to somehow filter the air from the printer thru a fan which I will attach to the enclosure …

Q: I am unsure what filter(s) to use which would be effective at stopping these particles from escaping the enclosure and perhaps one day when I do use ABS to also contain those VOCs.

Any suggestions please? Thanks in advance.
