It would be a nice touch to be able to add a little text beneath our materials listing for each printer. Maybe 50 - 100 characters. The field doesn’t have to be required but I see a bunch of hubs with large hub descriptions because they try to list and explain some or all of their materials.

Or also add a picture for every material because the colors aren’t all the same. Example : All manufacture has white filiament one is brighter than others so the buyer could see exactly what color it is.

Or like when you have 4 different shades of blue…

Pics would be great for color. A text field might be nice for explanations about what uses a certain material is good for - high temps, impact resistance, etc.
Hey guys, adding images and/ or a brief description next to the filament listing is actually a popular request among Hubs and it’s been added to the roadmap. I’m not sure about the timeline though, maybe @Brian and @Filemon can help with this? Either way, I’ll pass the suggestion along to the rest of the team — thanks for the nudge.

Jep, a though one this. Setting a standardized architecture for 3D print materials is hard, really hard. If I’m correct we’ve got some simple fixes planned soon and a major overhaul around summer. So it will be a few months before it really gets better… Hope that gives you some idea
Hey @imagine3dps and @Filemon @gabriela3d we have thought about this and felt that it would be better to standardise the materials descriptions so that it makes it easier for the customer to make a choice.
You can see the materials descriptions on the 3D Print page when you select a Hub and then choose a material from the dropdown (see attached screenshot). We are looking for doing the same to the Order Widget / ordering directly from a Hub via their profile in the coming weeks.
Pictures for each material / color for each Hub is a fantastic idea and a big step up as it really gives the customer an idea of what a final print looks like. We have this on our roadmap, but for now @imagine3dps I recommend that you upload more pictures to your Hub profile that describe the range of materials / colors that you have, and the typical models that you print. I searched for West Palm Beach and saw that your Hub has some awesome pics already, so great work!
You can help give customers a greater understanding of the materials and colors you have on offer by taking more close up photos (with good lighting) that show the level of detail and properties of the materials.
Lastly, we know that organising your photos is currently not the easiest thing to do, so we are fixing that in February.
Best,
Pete
