Hey guys,
recently I bought a ‘Fabrikator-mini’ from a friend and have been getting into some 3D modelling and printing. All was going smoothly when all my prints suddenly started printing with a rough, sketchy texture and I have no idea why. We have unclogged the nozzle, checked motor currents, double checked ‘repetier-host’ configurations and tested belt tension and we can’t find a problem anywhere. If anyone could help me with this issue it would be much appreciated. Attached blow are pictures of two prints with the one on the left being the malfunctioned print and the one on the right being the same model but before these malfunctions started happening.
Thanks in advance,
Dunnay
It the problem only occurring on the vertical (z) axis?
I guess I’m looking at the photos wrong. I thought the side with the round
hole was the base, the bottom of the print. If that was true, then it looked
like there was some severe z-banding - that is, heavy horizontal lines through
the piece.
Not familiar with your machine but I would check for loose belts, screws, hardware, etc.
Looks like you have some wobble somewhere. Tighten up everything, add some lubrication where appropriate, and retest.

Looks like a loose X or Y belt to me.
