I’m trying to find a way of stopping the start stop position on each layer being so pronounced.

Has anyone else had this issue and found a way around it?

I’ve tried to play with the layer thickness and print speeds but nothing seams to make any significant difference.

I’m printing PLA on a Flashforge Creator Pro

Extruder: 210

Platform: 55

Layer height 0.18mm

This image shows what I’m trying to avoid.

This seam is caused by the extended amount of time that the printer spends in one place as the z-height changes. There are a few things that you can do to combat this. You can go in the slicer settings and tell it to stagger the start/stop positions, which will leave you with the blobs spread out over the print instead of in a cohesive seam. You could also try increasing the z-acceleration to allow it to make the layer change quicker.

In Simplify3d you can set coast and wipe settings, which will help with this.

You can also set start location, which in this case using 0,0 would put the seam in the outside corner, where it would not be noticable.

Randomizing start positions also makes seams less obvious as an option.

Sorry, this is the only software I am familiar with.
