Hello all, I am totally new to this world, my background is in visual art, though I do have some knowledge 3D modeling. I just received my Monoprice Maker Select 3D printer. I´m stuck on step 13 of the beginners manual. While the step says to physically move the extruder to the corners. Both of my right hand corners are to high, even with the springs and bolts totally fastened. Any clue on what might be wrong. I think I can fix if I just get a clue. I was thinking in cutting a small part of the spring to create more room. How does that sound? I very much appreciate your help.
I CUT A LOOPE FROM EACH SPRING ON THE RIGHT AN PROBLEM SOLVED. For now…

I had the same problem a few minutes ago but have used other 3d printers. The directions need help here. I believe that the home button actually sets the space that is needed. Is it possible to get the unit to go lower by pressing the z- yup which is what I first tried and this takes you down a road you do not want to go. I got a regular piece of 8.5 x 11 that is a bit heavier and another thinner piece of paper off a note pad. I experimenters with the home button on the thin and the thick. Believe I used the thick paper in the end but may not matter. Ok so your up and down on the Z is set with the home button. After that I never used Z again. Only x and y. Make sure that you are getting some slight drag after hitting the home button. Then I moved part way with X toward the other end and stopped to make sure I had clearance along the way. If it had too much drag I could use the thin sheet to make sure I had clearance. If it got tight I would tighten the set screw a quarter turn. It it was had a gap I moved it to the corner and adjusted the set screw counter clockwise to get a proper drag on the paper. . Do the same thing in the Y direction. Maybe I am totally confusing you and others may have more experience but I am convinced it is now level as I got a good set of tracks right off the bat
