I recently printed the cap shown in the images on this Imgur album.

It appears that the print started off straight, and then after 1mm or so the print started to go slanted in the y axis, then it straightened up again.
Has anyone seen anything like this? I originally thought it may have been due to Z axis misalignment, however it is only for a 3-4mm of the print.
I’ve never seen this before on the printer, I’m going to try some test prints later on tonight, but I’m hoping to maybe get to the bottom of the problem before getting home from work so I can get the issue fixed as quick as possible.
Thanks
Andy
Was the print sticking to the bed from start to finish? It looks like it has moved slightly… Or even warped a little. Nice definition btw.
Thanks.
Yeah the print was stuck to the bed fully. It almost seems like the y axis became progressively further out of the intended position for the layers that are slanted. I’m about to try the print again to see if the same thing happens.
Are you using a glass bed? Like already mentioned, it may have shifted during the print.
This kind of issue can also be caused by printing too fast - what speed are you using?
What is your bed temp?
It turns out I had a loose belt. The layers that are squint in the picture had a 50% infill on them which resulted in the printer jerking about, which probably loosened the belt and caused the layer to shift slightly.
The rest of the print probably came out ok because there wasn’t any jerky movements.
I got to the bottom of the issue.
I’m using a PrintinZ Zebra plate at 85C. Not had any problems with prints coming away from the plate if everything is level before starting.
