Hello guys,

I have been having this problem on my Zortrax M200 recently, hope someone can help. The front of the build plate only has one screw in the middle to level. However, the right side is around 4-5mm lower than the right side and I cannot get large prints to stick properly. Does anyone know a fix?

Any help is much appreciated, thanks!

James

Solution: Thanks for all the feedback, I really appreciate it. Here’s what I did, I unscrewed the platform (16 screws) and placed two business cards under the spot where its too low and screwed it back on. Now my autocallibration works perfectly again!

It’s a common issue, some platforms are thinner on the corners.

you can try adding a shim underneath to raise the platform corner.

Or you can try changint it for a new one.

The best option is to adjust adhesion on the fly.

Hi James,

You should be able to regulate also the front part using the two screws located on the back of the platform and following the instruction that the printer is giving you during the calibration process. I have the same printer and I never had this kind of problem. If the sensors are working correctly and the platform isn’t deformed, you’ll be able to correct the issue just recalibrating the platform.

Let me know how is going, I can try to replicate your problem on my printer and try to look for a solution.

Hello Federico,

thanks for your input. I moved my print head manually (build plate up with machine switched off) and all three corners are calibrated correctly only the front right is very low. So I guess I would have to take the advice of adding spacers myself.

Thanks for your answer. I’ll try raising it by adding a shim as you suggested. What do you mean by adjust adhesion on the fly? Did you mean the shim method?

James

You should use dial gauge/dial indicator gauge.

Photographs would be useful

If the part is big you will raise the front while working to get proper adhesion on that area, when finished the raft lower the bed to avoid the noozle hitting other areas.

Have a read on the zortrax maintenance guide about cleaning out all the little bits of plastic that get stuck under the build platform. It’s maintenance that should be performed every so many hundred hours if I remember correctly. Hope this helps. How old is your machine.

Hi Yowhwui,

Thanks for your feedback. I’d say that the platform is deformed: according to the Zortrax maintenance manual, it can happen after a bit of time. Otherwise, I can’t explain the issue, if you have got three points on the same level, also the build plate must be perfectly flat

Hello:) That certainly works and I have been doing that for a while now but I want to fix the problem rather than treat the symptoms.

Hello thanks for your input. I do remove the platform and clean every now and then, I even swapped a new platform and its the same problem so its the frame underneath that’s deformed. My machine is 6 months old  Over 1200 print hours so I guess some parts do wear.
