Heyho 3D HUBS community!

I am very excited to share a social project we are working on with you and hopefully get as much input as possible:

We -a team of students at Maastricht University- are conducting a market research for a project in Business Innovation and Sustainable Development for a Dutch company which employs people with distance to the labour market (handicapped, long-term unemployed…). These people can do many different kinds of tasks due to their variety in skills and types of handicaps. The company is now considering to enter the 3D printing industry.

Our first main question to investigate is if there is a market for either (1) the assembly of printers or (2) printing of products by the firm’s employees. The type of information we are searching for is, for example, if there are companies out there that would let such a firm assemble their printers, if own production would be efficient and what could be possible target industries and clients (B2B).

In a nutshell: Your input here can have real social impact and help to create jobs for a marginalized group of our society, and we very much appreciate ANY kind of information and / or contacts that could help for this project.

Cheers and have a lovely day!

Hi Jennifer @Jennifer_Ziegne

Are you a team or The A Team :stuck_out_tongue: ?

Cool that you do this research! Yesterday I talked to Maria and she’s working at CRE8 in Amsterdam. They are using 3D printing and helping people to integrate into the work environment. Maybe she can help you out!

@CRE8 Can you help Jennifer out?

Good luck!

Hey @Jennifer_Ziegne , this sounds really interesting! what pop’ed to my head immediately was that seriously 3D printing could be a great way for people like that to earn money. Even simply signing up here on 3D Hubs can be one way to do it  I wonder if some companies would consider this. Please keep us updated!

Hi Jennifer,

I’m happy to give input or help you out somehow. As Barry says, we are a social venture that uses 3D-printing to help youngsters. Check out our website www.c-r-e-8.nl for more info on this. And you can drop me an email at maria@c-r-e-8.nl.

`cheers,

maria
