I have an issue where I am printing a part that has a wide, circular base with lots of adhesion. The first 8 or so layers go great, but then all of a sudden, when I start extruding the fins of my impeller (See pictures), it shifts over a mm. The rest of the print is beautiful and I love it, but it shifted off center.

Any Ideas as what would cause this?

Hi @EastmanLG here’s some things to think about:

#1 - Is there any physical obstruction to the print head/bed? I once spent hours looking for a model/software problem only to eventually realise the bed was physically catching on a misplaced part of the frame.

#2 - Does the model look OK in your slicer? Step through the layers (if you can) and check.

#3 - Is the problem repeatable? Does it happen every time and in the same way each time?

#4 - Does it happen with other models? Try a different model that’s similar (base disk, something on top) and look for the same issue.

#5 - Does the model check out in terms of errors with faces/normals, etc. Have you run it through Netfabb?

Can’t really add much over what @cobnut has said except you give us no information other than the issue.

What printer, slicer, material, speeds, temps etc.?
