Hello,

I’m using Simplify3d and I wanted to print a small part that covers my Nikon batteries. Here’s the part:

When I put this object in S3d it will always print empty walls. I didn’t notice this at first and the print was kinda flimsy. Anybody know which settings to tweak? Can you reproduce it?

Can you upload the 3d model and your printer specifications (layer height and nozzle diameter), so that I can take a look at it on my own PC ?

I would try to raise the “outline overlap” of the “Infill” task (advanced options), this determins, how much the infill pattern and the outlines overlap, but don’t go beyond 40-50% as you will get heavy overextrusion if you do so.

Next up in the “Advanced” task there is a section called “Thin Wall Behavior” in this you want to have the check box “Allow gap fill when necessary” selected, additionally play around with the “allowed perimeter overlap” percentage. I have mine set to 30 percent, again you should avoid raising it beyond 40-50%.

Try out various infill patterns, not only for the external, but also internal fill.

Cheers,

Marius

You also can play with “Extrusion Width” - it often happen it set to Auto.

Cheers,

Ruslan

Hey @MrFex, did you manage to solve this?

Unfortunately not yet. I’m getting a little frustrated. I have had this machine for 3 weeks and I still don’t know how to use it

I am also having severe warping issues which I cannot solve :frowning:

I believe you have a duplicator from your other posts. So I would try makerware instead for this one. Some slicers slice different objects better.
