Hey Guys,

I just got a Flashforge Creator Pro and I am using Simplify 3D and I tried to print this part at %10 percent infill and if you look at the image it has gaps along the entire side. How do I fix this?

Have you checked out the simplify3d quality guide? https://www.simplify3d.com/support/print-quality-troubleshooting/ looks like either under-extrusion or gaps between infill and outline.

That said I like to print around 20% infill thought I did just do an 8% infill but it was tricky.

Thanks, I’ll check it out.

That looks to me like there aren’t enough top layers being printed; the first layer or so almost always will fall through with low infill so you have to increase the number of top layers that get printed. At 10% infill, I would definitely say this is your issue as that is really low and the printer essentially has to print the first top layer in midair. It just doesn’t have enough support to lay down cleanly, so you need to build on top of it to get a nice smooth top layer.

Generally, I print with 3-6 top layers, depending on infill and perimeter shells. I’d say bump whatever you use now in Simplify up to at least 5 and see if that helps. This setting is found in Simplify under the “Layer” tab if you click on the appropriate print process on the lower left of the program. Alternatively, bump the infill up to 30% or higher and see if that helps.

In simplify3d reduce the filament diameter value a little bit, it looks like it’s under extruding. If you are using 1.75mm then make it like 1.73mm or less until you find the sweet spot.

Thanks It worked! All I had to do was bump up the infill percentage to 30%.
