My 4 year old Makerbot Replicator 2 is not printing the sides of objects smoothly. They are always rough with an occasional blobby line or two. An occasional layer or two will not adhere to the next layer completely. I just cleaned the hot end out completely and put on a new nozzle. I have the latest spring loaded extruder. Had gotten great prints for years on this machine. Any ideas?
I think it could be the z axis motor but have no way of checking. Z movement is a little rough.
