Hello All,

I am about to start branching out with new materials and I thought I would see if anyone has had luck and would like to share their setups/materials.

I print exclusively with Hatchbox ABS (~$20-$25 on amazon) with my printer at 235° Nozzle and 110° Bed. I have printed in all their colors with great success. I will note however for white abs you have to turn it down to 230° or else you’ll get burnt plastic.

My printer is an R1 and I just had the heated bed updated to their most current bed about a month ago. It seems to heat much more evenly than the original that came with my R1.

I’m looking to get into wood filament and PLA if anyone would like to share. Thanks so much.

Geoff

Hey Geoff, might be worth looking into this thread: Talk Manufacturing | Hubs

Happy printing and hope to see some of your experiments here Robo3D Talk

I got a roll of hatchbox wood filament,it looks great but I haven’t printed with it yet. I also just ordered some color fab which always prints great.

Thats good to hear. Was the color fab wood filament? and if its not too proprietary would you care to comment at what temps you run you’re prints at?

Ultimately it took a lot of dialing in for me to get my abs to run “just right” and I was hoping to get some reference points for new materials.

No the wood was hatchbox, every now and then you can find it Prime on Amazon for 28.00 dollars for 1KG. I snatched it up right away for that price. I haven’t printed with it yet,I’ve been so busy filling orders I haven’t had time. As soon as I do I’ll be sure to report back.
