I got a Qidi Tech X-one and love it a lot. For the most part it’s working great and puts out nice work and I can’t wait to learn more of the ins and outs and really start making some cool stuff. BUT, I’m having a problem whenever I try to scale an item down. The bed on the X-one is fairly small, so for some items I need to print at 80% or 90% of the size of the original file. I’ll make the adjustment, take a look at what the tool path will look like with the raft and support material, save it and go to print, and the print goes wrong about here. It makes about 90% of the first ring of the raft and then suddenly moves off into a corner and starts printing half off of the bed. I’m very new to 3D printing, so i’m not sure if I’m scaling the items down wrong / missing a step somewhere or if the program that comes with my X-One is just inadequate. I was planning on buying Simply 3D, but maybe next month after I’ve recovered from the holidays a little. For reference this has happened with every piece I’ve tried printing after adjusting the size, but none of the pieces I haven’t had to change, I have tried resetting the physical printer to factory settings, and I have also tried deleting the problem files and re-adjusting and saving them. Thanks!!

What slicer are you using. S3D is the best option but if you do not have the $ than makerware will work. If you use makerware the advanced settings have to be adjusted or your print will not come out. No matter what slicer you use make sure the settings are correct to your printer. I believe your printer would be setup as a Makerbot single. And your print speeds should be 60mm for ABS and 45mm for PLA. Raft and first layer I print at 15mm. Join Thingiverse and join the QIDI tech group this will also help with your printing.

Are you scaling the size down in your software down so that the model is taking up the entire bed? If so that is your problem, as all the slicers don’t account for the rafts and brims when you scale down to fit the bed. So in you ur slicer, if your model is just fitting on the bed, rafts and brims will print off the bed.

The software that comes with it does a good job. I would not use a raft unless I have to. Give it a try and see how it goes. I have scaled items in that software with success. S3D will be an improvement when you do get to it but in the mean time the slicer that came with the X-one is good.
