we had bought wanhao 4x 3d printer 2 years back. now we are checking forupgrading of firmware. when the LCD starts it shows up firmware version 1. can someone help us whether we need to upgrade the firmware.

First, ignore the firmware version as listed, as it has nothing to do with the sailfish firmware versions.
Second, most people are unaware that upgrading instructions with specific steps are available via a firmware manual. (http://www.sailfishfirmware.com/doc/sailfish.pdf)
Read the whole manual before you start. THEN, follow the instructions very carefully, particularly with respect to recording your existing settings for offsets, etc, before you being the upgrade.
