I just wanted to share the results of a little test I did. I put a 0.2mm nozzle on one of my Replicator 2’s and printed a 25mm tall Marvin at 60 microns. Of course I knew it was going to be slow, but I was still quite impressed with the results. Pictures don’t look as good as in person. This is fresh off the build plate with no finishing at all. Printing took 1 hour 31 minutes.

WOW! Great Results!!!

Can you share your print settings for this one?

I will share settings as soon as I’m back at my computer. I’m using Simplify 3D so there are lots of settings at play. Also, at this resolution, make certain your belts are properly tightened.

Looks great! thumbs up!

The three images attached make up the bulk of the settings. I printed this on a glass build plate with no heated bed in PLA. Temperature was set to 202. The infill doesn’t really matter much, but I had it at 26% printing solid honeycomb. If I did it again, I would reduce the infill to about 12%.

Thanks a lot! I don’t have a 0.2 mm nozzle yet but you encouraged me to try.

Nozzles are cheap. Just be prepared to deal with more filament jams as that nozzle won’t let any junk pass through. If you don’t mind the extra hassle there and waiting three hours for a 40 minute print, go for it!

ya, I just received a .2mm nozzle a week ago … but haven’t had the time to try it out.
