Ok pet peeve time…
Why are people selling and buying heaters for these printers at $45-$55 each??? I know they are selling because when i look at the listings on eBay it shows the number sold. And Fargo3d sells them for these outrageous prices also.
Let me give you all a tip here… It costs about $3 maybe $4 to make one. First off, the easiest way is to buy some 24v 40w heaters and just cut the old heater, leaving an inch or so of wire and the plug as a pigtail, use a little heatshrink tubing and solder and insulate the wires from a new heater to that pigtail and plug it in, instant cheap fix! But if your like me and you like to have spare parts that are plug and play ready here you go…
Go to Digikey or Mouser and get some housings…

And get some contacts…

Then all you need is a cheap crimper to install them, i have an old D-Sub pin crimper from back in the day when i used to make serial port cables, you can find em on eBay for $5 or less, or places like Allelectronics or SurplusSales of Nebraska. Take your old one to get the length, cut the new heater to length, strip the end, crimp on the pins, and insert into the housing. Done… And it didn’t cost you $50 for a $4 heater!!
Amazing that people pay for these at these prices!!
