I have a Ultimaker2 and I’m getting small blobs on the surface on my print.

I have attached a picture of some settings in Cura which I want to try to see if they will remove the small blobs, but it will not let me choose them.

When I click on the Retraction Speed Setting it says the following " this setting has been hidden by the values of Gcode flavour, enable retraction. Change the value of those settings to make this setting visible"

Does anyone know what and where this Gcode Flavour setting is?

Thanks

If you are getting blobs in a row, you likely are having retraction issues.

If you are getting blobs at random, you likely have filament that has absorbed humidity.

Hi

A photo of the Blobs would be nice.

However:

If your blobs are coming from the same place as my blobs, I may be able to help with my opinion.

for starters, I do not have an Ultimaker. Mine is a Lulzbot.

However, I do use CURA.

If your blobs are the same as mine,

Start by slowing things down LOTS

Travel speed 100

Print speeds of no faster than 30mm per second.

This applies to shells, inside and outside and infill.

Then try to make your shells at least 3 or 4 times your nozzle size.

Run parameters before infill.

Try it, I think you’ll like the end result.

Your prints will take longer, but I’ve noticed greatly improved quality in my prints.

Another thing I’ve noticed is that if I set the retraction distance to 1.3mm as opposed to 1.0, I get less stringing.

I know that a well tuned printer will far exceed these speeds, but I’m very happy with the results I’ve been getting lately.

Just my 2 cents worth.
