It seems like nozzles wearing down will be the new normal for many of the experimental/exotic filaments that are coming to market.

For anyone with an E3D v6 compatible hot end, there is a stainless steel nozzle available.

I haven’t used it, but it may be a good option for people who don’t want to keep a stash of brass nozzles on hand.

You can check them out on E3D-online.com. Filastruder sells them as well in the U.S.

Thanks for the tip, @FABbulous!

@czucker Unfortunately, many interesting composites have very hard materials in the matrix. Many do not. ProtoPlant, makers of Proto-pasta is also investigating more “nozzle friendly” composites, so stay tuned. In the meantime, we are offering some more durable nozzle alternatives as well. You can learn more about our nickel plated brass nozzles at Proto-pasta.com.

Thanks for the heads up Alex.

I did have a look at the Proto-Pasta nozzles but it seemed like they were mostly geared towards MakerBot owners. Do you have any that are compatible with an e3D hot end?

Not so far, but we hope to have some prototypes shortly with a saleable version shortly thereafter
