Hi folks:

I just started digging into 3D printing world lately and decided to have my first touch on a 3D printer by the end of this year. Could anyone have some recommendations on the beginner 3D printer which costs hundreds of dollars that I can start with? I am hoping I can get something good on Cyber Monday from online. And suggestions on the printing materials and accessories are also appreciated: )

Thanks for reaching out to Talk, Robin! It’s the perfect place to get you set up with 3D printing  I’m sure the guys will be able to help before Cyber Monday. Good luck!

Hi @robinjune1985 we have the Zortrax M200. And that machine is easy to use. Very plug n play. A bit expensive but it works.

What makes you think it’s only Guys out here @gabriela3d  I’m sure @sandrako @Simona wouldn’t agree with that - haha

Thanks @Christian_CAD. I check Zortrax M200 on Amazon it’s $2100 with a discount. I think it’s out my budget right now. I checked XYZprinting Da Vinci ranges from $400 ~ $650 which more fits my expectation. They look plug n play too but I don’t how well it really works.

I hope I can get some deal at shopping week too

Printrbot series look pretty neat and economical for a beginner. My only concern is not sure how hard it is for a zero 3D printing experience to put up the maker’s kit together and get it run well.

Thanks for the nomination. Hope they can see it and help.

Lol I don’t believe when people say “women and mechanical don’t get along” haha but i don’t think @gabriela3d meant that

Yooo Brian! Thumbs up

You can buy the printers preassembled which is a good idea for a beginner. The Printrbot Simple Metal is a great starting printer. It may not print as fast or have a huge build volume but once you learn how to use it the quality of prints you can get equals machines much more expensive.

Haha, @Brian! it’s true, ‘guys’ is a bit of a funny word, but I’m sure you’d agree that in this case is pretty gender neutral. A girl should know

Thanks for the vote of confidence, @robinjune1985, you’re awesome!

thanks for the input. I am shopping around now and debating between Printrbot Simple Metal vs. XYZprinting Da Vinici 2.0 (dual color).

What is the main difference between Printrbot Simple Maker’s Kit and Simple Metal Kit anyway?

The Simple Maker’s Kit is wood so you have less rigidity and you have to put it together. The Simple Metal is… metal and is a lot easier to put together as a kit. The Printrbot Simple Metal is one of the best price to performance ratio printers out there once you learn how to dial it in. The automatic bed leveling is something you’ll only appreciate more if you’ve spent hours tweaking the level on your bed on other printers.

I’m really looking forward to their Printrbot Plus Metal that goes on sale tomorrow for $999.

I’ve been a Lulzbot TAZ user for years and the Printerbot Simple Metal really impressed me. The Plus Metal is a no-brainer to expand my printing capability.
