Ok group, I am getting the bug to build a printer. I have two FFCP’s and two QIDI’s now so I have a little experience printing.

I would like to get a ready to build kit that can do quality prints, price range to be determined but not crazy!

I guess PLA, for now, would be the focus since I imagine it would be open chassis.

Dual extruder preferred.

Decent build volume.

Heated bed.

Would like USB connectivity.

Not sure what else to ask at this point other than maybe where to get it, eBay, Amazon etc.!!

Thanks for all suggestions and advice!

Hi! I would reccomend you The Original Prusa i3 MK2 kit, awesome quality, fast updates, great support, reasonably cheap,…

Cheers!

I got the Prusa i3 mk2. Check out the reviews. Josef will launch next month a filament multiplexer for 2 or 4 materials.

I think the comments below already address it, and I can only stress them more …
But the Prusa i3 MK2 is by far the best printer you’ll get within a reasonable price range.

The print quality is awesome due to the aluminium frame, but also because of the precise inductive probe bed leveling AND straightening!

The heatbed, a MK42, is designed for especially even heating despite faster cooling of edges etc, and is made of a lightweight thick PCB, without aluminium plating or glass.

Its build volume is great too with 25x21x20cm dimensions
It does NOT have dual extrusion - But it pretty much immediately makes up for it with the ingenious yet easy Bowden-Tube splitter design and motor-multiplexing boards, allowing /one extruder nose to work with four different colors independently/, without causing additional mechanical problems or Z-Nozzle calibration madness (And seriously the concept is so easy why did noone before ever think of it)

Take it, build it, be amazed

Circling back here - I ordered the MK2 kit and the four color upgrade. So now we wait for it to be ready to ship!
