First off, I have had the printer since December and have had no problems with numerous prints. Yesterday however, during the middle of a print, the print head stopped extruding, raised up slightly and went straight back to the middle back of the bed where it stopped and a weird clicking sound started. It sounded like something was hitting against something so I stopped the print and returned the head to home. Since then, I have attempted to do a print but now it will print well for about 50%, then its stops extruding, and the head wanders around the bed before returning to the print where it will print a little more before the whole process starts again. After a few times of coming back and printing tad more, the head will go to the middle back of the bed and the clicking begins again. Any ideas? I am stumped!!!

Hi Tony, Have you happened to try a different slicer? Also, can you try to test print one of the stl files that came on the SD card with the printer? Just curious if somethings getting injected into your gcode to cause problems. Also, you mentioned clicking. Is anything near any of your end stop sensors or is there debris stuck somewhere? That might also cause that strangeness. Does everything move freely if you manually slide things around? (The bed and the nozzle) Also try using the control box to raise the z height all the way to max to ensure it cam move the entire way without problems. Just some thoughts…

Thank you! …problem solved! Even though I have been using Blender without problems, evidently something bizarre happened to a few Blender stl files and these just happened to be the one’s that went haywire. I re-printed one that I had no problems with and that printed perfectly and then I printed another from the files that came with the printer and it worked perfectly. That tells me that somehow, I have a few wacky files from Blender. I will re-work those and see what happens. Thank you so much for your help!
No problem at all, glad you got it sorted out!
